OUR STORY
The Founding of
RamAir International inc.
With more than 30 years experience in carpet and air duct cleaning, RamAir Founder and CEO David Hart launched Guarantee Air Duct Cleaning in 1998. While the business was successful, David quickly grew frustrated with the air duct cleaning equipment available at the time. The tools on the market were inefficient, left behind significant debris, required invasive cutting into ductwork, and offered no way to visually confirm what was being removed.
Determined to create something better, David set out to design a system that was safe for every type of ducting, exceptionally effective at eliminating dust and contaminants, portable and easy to operate, and efficient enough to transform what had traditionally been a half‑day, labor‑intensive job into a cleaner, more thorough process completed with far less effort – in half the time. The results not only impressed clients but consistently delivered a “wow factor” that generated enthusiastic referrals and rave reviews.
That pursuit led to the development of the RamAir ClearView Duct Cleaning System, a breakthrough solution that combines the ideal balance of airflow, the precision of a HEPA‑filtered vacuum, and powerful yet non‑damaging agitation. Together, these elements ensure ducts are cleaned more completely, safely, and impressively than ever before, making it the only method of HVAC cleaning and decontamination trusted and utilized by Forensic Restoration™ professionals.
Raising the Standard
The RamAir Advantage
The RamAir System was the first duct cleaning equipment to incorporate a ClearView vacuum box, allowing both the technician and the homeowner to see debris being removed in real time. This transparency created a strong “wow factor” and helped RamAir achieve the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the HVAC industry.
HVAC cleaning, an industry dating back to the 1950s, first relied on the “negative air” method, using large vacuum trucks or trailers and, later, portable negative air machines. While this approach worked reasonably well for older sheet‑metal ducts, the landscape changed with the introduction of flexible ducting in the 1970s, which became mainstream by the 1980s and the standard by the early 2000s.
Yet negative air systems failed to evolve alongside these advances. They not only left behind debris but also risked damaging ducts and voiding warranties. In fact, a groundbreaking research paper published in December 2023 — spearheaded and peer‑reviewed by the nation’s leading flex duct manufacturers — demonstrated conclusively that the negative air pressures generated by this method can literally tear flex ducting apart from the inside.
RamAir provided the innovative alternative for which the industry had been waiting: safe for modern ductwork, efficient for contractors, and impressive for customers.

Why Positive Air Duct Cleaning®?
Traditional negative air and portable rotary brush duct cleaning equipment can damage modern flexible ductwork, leave debris behind, and even void HVAC system warranties. In fact, the archaic negative air method has been proven to rip flex ducting apart from the inside, as revealed in a landmark peer‑reviewed study authored and validated by the nation’s top flex duct manufacturers—a paper so significant that all four leading industry publications released it simultaneously, hailed as “the biggest informational bomb to be dropped on the air duct cleaning industry in history.”
This structural failure isn’t minor: breakage along the full 360‑degree seam and the entire linear length of ducting allows debris infiltration and cripples HVAC efficiency, effectively ruining the ductwork. By contrast, Positive Air Duct Cleaning® from RamAir International harnesses the system’s own balanced airflow, combined with vacuum and compressed air, to safely and thoroughly remove all dust and debris—delivering a faster, more effective, and warranty‑safe clean every time.
